Our Band Experience & Expectations

Pipers

A person playing bagpipes during a parade, wearing traditional Scottish attire including a kilt, surrounded by other parade participants dressed in green and spectators. A "No Outlet" sign is visible in the background.

We offer comprehensive instruction from the basics on the practice chanter through to playing the full Highland bagpipes. Experienced pipers will find opportunities to refine their skills, learn new repertoire, and contribute to our competition and performance sets.

Drummers

A marching band wearing traditional Scottish kilts and hats performing outdoors at a festival. They are playing drums and bagpipes with event tents and trees in the background.

Our drum corps provides instruction for snare, tenor, and bass drumming. Beginners start on pads, learning rudiments and technique, while experienced drummers integrate into the corps, learning our musical style and scores.

Commitment

Members are expected to attend weekly practices regularly and dedicate time to personal practice. As a performing and competing band, participation in parades, gigs, and Highland Games is encouraged.
