About the City of Sacramento Pipe Band

Carrying the Tradition Forward Since 1989

Founded in 1989 by Liz Tubbs and the late Clutch Sutton, the City of Sacramento Pipe Band has grown deep roots in the community, carrying the torch for Scottish music and culture in the region for over three decades.

From competing internationally at the World Pipe Band Championships to consistent participation in Highland Games and many local performances, we are committed to musical excellence and fostering the next generation of players.

Our Mission

We are a non-profit educational organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish piping and drumming, welcoming members of all ages and skill levels to learn, perform, and compete.

Our Leadership & Members

Guided by experienced leadership, including Pipe Major Rob Duncan and Drum Sergeant Duncan McPherson, our band brings together dedicated pipers and drummers from all walks of life and experience levels. United by a shared passion for the music and heritage of Scotland, we form a cohesive pipe corps and a dynamic drum corps featuring snare, tenor, and bass drums.
